Antony Hermus, guest conductor and great friend of the Residentie Orkest, returns to The Hague for a spectacular program that explores the boundaries of the symphonic repertoire. The concert begins with Short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams – an exhilarating, breathtaking ride in a sports car that accelerates the speed and tension with brass and percussion. Then the brand new Piano Concerto by Willem Jeths, written for the Residentie Orkest and pianist Ellen Corver, will be performed. This work proves once again why Jeths is considered the godfather of Dutch composers. The concert culminates in Stravinsky's revolutionary masterpiece itself, Le Sacre du printemps, bringing the story of spring, sacrifice, and ecstasy to life with an overwhelming sound world.
